by Chantal Akerman, Michael Tarantino, Catherine David
96pp. Text in French. Slight rubbing to edges. Very small thin dent-line to surface on front wrapper. Near fine.
D’Est is Chantal Akerman’s most acclaimed video installation, inspired by her journeys across Central and Eastern Europe from 1991 to 1993, following the fall of the Berlin Wall. It chronicles her travels to East Germany in the spring, then through Poland and Ukraine in the summer, and finally to Moscow in winter, artfully weaving together documentary and fictional elements.
