This Brussels Ateliers des Arts special issue, directed by film historian Jacqueline Aubenas, is the published outcome of the first INSAS seminar on Chantal Akerman held in early 1981. It collects close readings, technical studies of camerawork and editing, interviews, and critical essays. Contributors include Thierry de Duve, Eric de Kuyper, Benoît Peeters, and Françoise Collin. The volume is frequently cited in later Akerman scholarship and touches works from Jeanne Dielman and Les Rendez-vous d’Anna through the early 1980s, including context around Toute une nuit.
